Sameiningin
The Church had honored Pastor Olafson in electing him to be
a delegate at four Conventions of the United Lutheran Church in
America; and to the Lutheran World Federation Convention in
Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1929.
The Government of Iceland bestowed upon him the Grand-
Knight Falcon Order in 1939.
During all of the years of his fruitful ministry, Pastor Olafson
had also enjoyed a lovely and happy family life. In fulfillment of
his wishes, all of his children returned from great distances to
visit with their father during the last two months of his life.
On Tuesday, June 27, 1961, God in His love and mercy called
His servant Home.
There remain to mourn his passing, his beloved wife, Ethel
Olafson; his children, Erling Olafson, of Westport, Washington;
Paul Olafson, of Fullerton, California; Mrs. Sigrun MacDonald, of
Seattle, Washington; and Dr. Frederick Olafson, of Baltimore, Mary-
land; one stepson, Leighton Philips, of Manchester, Iowa, and
fourteen grandchildren.
Preceding Pastor Olafson in death, were his first wife, Sigrun
Anderson Olafson; his second wife, Fredericka Bjornson Olafson;
one son, Marino Olafson; and one daughter, Aurora Olafson.
