like the trunk of a tree. He ended up by having all three women in
tow. His knowledge of the beautiful marine life amazed us. He
knew the name of every fish, both the common and scientific name.
New Year’s Eve was very enjoyable at Bleuhaven. We danced
and mingled with the rest of the guests and were serenaded by a
number of steel bands which toured the island way into the small
hours of the morning.
The day after New Year’s we were back in Trinidad, and left
very early next morning for home.
We were grateful to Ruth and Doug for having moved to
Trinidad as otherwise it is unlikely that we would have made the
trip. We were sorry to leave and very much indebted to them for
making our holiday so enjoyable. Our last bird’s-eye view of
Trinidad as the plane flew over it was that of beautiful green from
the highest mountain top to the sunny seas. And added to this
splendor was the flowering Immortelle Tree nestled in the forest.
We arrived home January llth, after over 10,000 miles in the air.
Our trip was at an end, and now seems like a pleasant dream.
