Ársrit Bandalags lúterskra kvenna 77 The report of the chairman of the Camp Committee, is here attached. Mr. Bjerring reports that Mrs. S. Olafson of Selkirk, Man., has resigned her office as Camp Director, the office she has held from the time that the Camp was opened. It was with regret that her resignation was accepted, for illness in the family made this inevitable. The Lutheran Womens League extends thanks to her for years of service. Mr. Frederick G. Lueders, a student in Theology at the North West Seminary, Minneapolis, Minn., has been engaged for office of Director of the Camp for this season. He will be ac- companied by his wife. The League is deeply appreciative of as- sistance, financial and personal efforts, so freely given at all times to our many projects; to name just one at this time ... I refer to the weaving . . . Mrs. A. Wathne has conduced this handiwork portion of our work for many years. This has been very popular with the young girls at the Camp. Folders for this season’s activities just opened, are here for your information. Children’s Trust Fund — This fund raised by voluntary con- tributions, is for the purpose of assisting children, recommended by their district, who could not otherwise attend the Camp. SUNDAY SCHOOL WORK . . . This was the only project of the League for many years . . particularly in the Inter-lake district . . . this is the large territory lying between Lake Manitoba and Lake Winnipeg. A report from the Sunday School Committee of the League working with the Synodical committee is here attached . . . this shows definite advancement in the work and method. In the early years of our League’s activities, we were fortunate in interesting a number of young women and one young man, all teachers on the Public school staff of Winnipeg and other Manitoba Points, to devote two weeks of their holiday time, year after year, to visit the parishes of our Synod without resident Pastor. They formed classes, prepared young people for confirmation. This work was followed-up by teachers in some of the public schools of the district who gave religious instruction on Friday afternoons, using literature supplied by the Sunday School of the First Lutheran Church, Winnipeg . . . Later a correspondence course was used for a short time. ARDIS ... The year book of the League is now being published, this is the 24th issue. The language question enters into this part
