teachers, (3) cataloguing of maps and photographs, (4)
the Internet and web issues, (5) thesauri, (6) the diverse
employment opportunities of graduates, and finally (7)
the importance of records management in implementing
quality management. The Department also participated
in conferences held by others as previously mentioned.

Committee, discussed the history of education in the
Department during the 50 years at the Annual Meeting

ence was also held on March 23, 2007 and covered the
past development and the future prospects for library and
information science. The calendar of events was concluded
in a seminar that was held on April 26, 2007 where students
in the Department presented their research that was part of
their final thesis.
