G. O. has heard nothing from Brochmand. Sends Icelandic annals
to the chancellor which Bishop Oddur Einarsson had had copied after
a vellum. The natural historical treatise is not yet finished. Has
installed GuSmundur Laurentiusson in his office. Mentions a vol-
canic eruption. Sends a gift.
17119 annales veterum: A copy of the annals in Flateyjarbok,
which is still preserved in AM 414, 40, see G. Storm, Isl. Annaler
indtil 1578, pp. XXXV-XXXVI; cf. Qualiscunque descriptio Is-
landiae, hrsg. v. Fr. Burg, 1928, p. XIV; Aarbøger f. nord. Old-
kyndighed 1934, p. 175. Worm must evidently have kept the copy
or got it from Chancellor Friis, for Worm had the annals translated
into Latin (see Storm l.c.), and the very copy was handed down
as an inheritance to Worm’s son’s son, Chr. Worm, who presented
it to Åmi Magnusson.
17124 Gudmundum Laurentium: GuSmundur Laurentiusson (f
1679) was matriculated at the University of Copenhagen on Nov.
I2th, 1632, and on his return home in 1636 was made minister at
Stafafell in Lån.
17136 alias: This was done in G. O.’s writing, Annalium in Is-
landia farrago, see Islandica X, pp. 25-26. The volcanic eruption
derived from Hekla.
91. W I 189 r. Not printed in WE.—Worm thanks for a gift
and sends Lit. Run. Has not been able to do anything with regard
to the marriage-permission owing to the king’s and the chancellor’s
absence. Reminds him of the natural history treatise.
