uberiores p. 19; the translation is, however, somewhat altered. Pro-
bably Worm has made use of an Icelander’s assistance in this and
the following translations which, as far as regards the prosa, are
relatively correct.
3543 mihi est 26: Gylfaginning 16 in Codex Wormianus, see
Edda, 1924, p. 22. There are numerous misreadings in the following
verses.
35414'28 Kongr æin, etc.: Skåldskaparmål 48 in Cod. Worm.,
see Edda, 1924, pp. 76-77. The piece is full of inaccuracies in the
copy; nor is the translation very close, though on the whole correct.
Both are included by Stephanius in Notæ uberiores, pp. 73-74.
355® enumerata a te carminum genera: It must be a reference
to an otherwise unknown list of metres which Stephanius has sent
to Worm.
3558’13 Bragar bott, etc.: From where Worm has got these terms
denoting Icelandic metres is not clear; probably he has been inform-
ed of some of them, at any rate, verbally by Icelanders, while others
may derive from Snorra-Edda. Stuthola is = stutthala, which (later)
means a two-lined rimur-metre (also called valhendu-afhending),
see Helgi SigurSsson, BragfræSi islenzkra rimna, 1891, p. 249. Some
of the expressions do not describe metres, but are the names of cer-
tain poems (Bjarkamål, Tåubragur, Hakabragur).—These terms are
included by Stephanius in Notæ uberiores p. 12.

355S° ff- Nemi Drott, etc.: The three following verses derive from
Cod. Worm., see Edda, 1924, pp. 86-87. The Latin translation is in
W written between the lines. The two last verses are written in runes
in W; the })-rune in Worm is here rendered by a d, except in |)arf.
The copy of the verses is fairly correct; the translation completely
wrong. All the verses with the Latin translation are included by
Stephanius in Notæ uberiores pp. 32-33.
36512 ad calcem Literaturæ: Lit. Run. pp. 230 and 239 (Hofu<5-
lausn, verse 5 and 20).
35614 Grams gladar: This quotation and the following one are
written in runes in W. Stephanius includes the two verses from
HofuOlausn at their whole lengths in Notæ uberiores p. 33.
