from the forest and it is the general opinion that he has

Skjoldr bears Buris’s standard. He turns against Hjarandi
and tries to strike him with his spear but Hjarandi springs
into the air so that Skjoldr hits the earth instead. At the
very moment he bends forward, Hjarandi chops him in
two with his sword. After this Buris and Hjarandi fight in
single combat. Unlike Hjarandi, Buris is invulnerable but
Hjarandi nevertheless succeeds in striking him across the
face so that his nose and upper jaw-bone are broken and
all his teeth fall down in the grass. After this tremendous
effort Hjarandi collapses, seriously wounded, and panic
seizes the people.
