It is uncertain whether the Hávarður and Jón who
wrote their names in the MS were the Njarðvík third-
cousins or the slightly younger sons of séra Magnús
Hávarðsson,13 priest at Desjarmýri in the neighbour-
hood of Njarðvík 1675-1711.14

Stockh. perg. fol. nr. 7 is a manuscript of 68
leaves. The binding consists of two wooden plates
tied together with cords. The text is written in two

bær in Tunga, also in N. Múla sýsla. The priest at Kirkjubær was
then séra Eiríkur Olafsson, the father of séra Halldór Eiríksson,
whose signature is also found in 533 (see above, pp. xxxf.). This is a
demonstrable connection between the two families, but of course
there may have been others.
