LXIV
There are no quotations from p. 156 and the quota-
tions from p. 157 derive not from Bevers saga but
from ívens saga7. Bevers saga must thus have begun
at the latest on p. 150 (= f. 75v) and not f. 77 as
Gödel thought, and have concluded on p. 156 or p.
157 (= f. 78v or 79r)8 and not f. 80.
The 4Vt or 5 leaves between Bevers saga and
Partal. (the latter began on p. 166, cf. below) were
occupied by Ivens saga and Mírmants saga. Some-
where between f. 80v (the final quotation from Ivens
saga9) and f. 83r (the only quotation from Mírmants
saga10) there must already have been a lacuna at the
time when the MS was paginated and excerpted (see
above, p. xlix); the lacuna must have affected the
beginning of Mírmants saga and possibly also the end
of Ivens saga.
The quotations from Partal. derive from pp. 166-
170 (see above, p. lii), and, as shown on pp. lv lvi,
Partal. began either at the very bottom of p. 165 or
on p. 166 (= f. 83v), not f. 86 as stated by Gödel, and
ended on p. 172 (f. 86v), not on f. 88 as Gödel
thought.
‘Enoks saga’ began 2/5 of the way down p. 172
(see above, pp. lv f.). The final quotation from ‘Enoks
saga’ is from p. 179, 1. 28 (f. 90r)n; the quotation
occurs about 60 (printed) lines from the end of Jón
Vigfússon’s transcript in Stockh. 66 (= Islendzk œven-
týri I, LXXV A, 12-13, p. 197). This means that
‘Enoks saga’ must have ended at the bottom of f. 90r
or the top of f. 90v. According to Index it was
7 Ibid., pp. 149-50.
8 C. Sanders, op. cit., p. 151, n. 24, suggests as a possibility that
Ivens saga may have begun on the upper part of p. 157.
9 Ibid., p. 150.
10 Ibid., p. 153, n. 25.
