Skrifstofur Alþingis og
Markhúsið
[ skrifstofum Alþingis (2001) var
nauðsynlegt að mynda alvarlegt og
virðulegt vinnuumhverfi. Skipulegt
fyrirkomulag skrifstofa virkar vel með
opnu vinnurými í miðjunni. þessar skrif-
stofur eru í nýju skrifstofuhúsi í miðborg
Reykjavíkur (byggingin var teiknuð af
Hlédísi og Gunnari). í byggingunni eru
skrifstofur, vinnurými og fundarherbergi
fyrir alþingismenn. Einfaldar og
praktískar lausnir, efnisval og meðferð
Ijóss mynda þau áhrif sem eftir var
leitað.
Offices:
The Parliaments Offices and
Markhúsið
The Parliament offices (2001) called for
a solemn and dígnified work environ-
ment. An orderly office plan with open
workspaces in the centre works well.
Located in a new office building in
downtown Reykjavík (the whole build-
ing was designed by Hlédís and
Gunnar), the building is to occupy
offices, working spaces and conference
rooms for the members of Parliament.
Simple and practical solutions, material
selection and manipulation of light, cre-
ate the sought-after effect.
Markhúsið (1997)
A new marketing company called for a
new and hip image. An open plan, a
rough envelope. The new offices were
previously a printing factory, located
in an old industrial building. The highly-
stylised design both compliments
and contrasts the roughness of the for-
mer usage of the space.

Nýtt markaðsfyrirtæki var að leita eftir
nýrri og nýtískulegri ímynd. Opnu rými
og grófu umhverfi. Rýmið var áður
prentsmiðja í gömlu iðnaðarhúsnæði.
Hönnunin er mjög stílfærð og bæði fellur
að og er í mótsögn við fyrri not rýmisins.
