is convinced that this can be achieved through sincere co-operation.
Camp Nawakwa was blessed with earnest, Christian workers,
giving unstinted aid and service in their first difficult years; so
have we, noble, earnest Christians, within our Icelandic churches,
anxious to see the future of our faith safeguarded by training our
youth in the Christian way of living.
Through wholehearted and enthusiastic co-operation of all our
Lutheran friends, this can be done and Sunrise Lutheran Camp
can be made into a model Leadership Training Camp for all our
people. It isn’t only money, but also willing, voluntary personal
service that can achieve this goal.
This camp of ours, situated on the shores of Lake Winnipeg
and within the area where our early pioneers first settled in Mani-
toba, can and will become a fitting monument to their courage and
sacrifices.
God grant that this Youths’ Camp, Sunrise Lutheran Camp,
may develop in all the ideals planned for it and strengthen, in
young and old, a desire to serve in our Lord’s Work, and through
these results, give reverent, spiritual dignity to our Lutheran
Church.
