78 ÁRDÍ S Report of the Board of Directors of Sunrise Lutheran Camp Read at the Convention at Hecla The secretary of the Camps board of directors will be presenting a detailed report covering the activities of the Board for the past year. It will be noted that some progress has been made during the year in the matter of completing work on the interior of the Memorial Hall. Some improvement has also been made to the grounds but any extensive improvements are only to be anticipated over a matter of years for the reasons that they are costly and the contracting for such undertakings difficult to arrange. Tthe principal objectives in view are those of levelling off suitable portions of the grounds and the laying out of baseball diamond and a tennis court at as early a time as possible. Otherwise expenditures must of necessity for a while yet be confined to the acquiring and purchasing of the most needed essentials. Contributions to the various funds have however been sufficiently encouraging to show evidence of mutual interest in the welfare of the camp and faith in the object and principal for which it was established. Your Board is mindful of the free and willing services rendered by so many in the interests of the Camp and by the women particularly, who have unstintingly donated time and energy so that our summer camp might operate as efficiently and economically as possible. Such services merit the grateful acknowledgements of the Board as well as the appreciation of all concerned. It is on such services that a developing project such as ours is so dependent on. Voluntary working parties, sometimes mixed groups, from the community adjacent to the camp and also from both Selkirk and Winnipeg have at different times lent a hand at work on the grounds, clearing or constructing as the case might be and so contributed valuable assistance that the Board much appreciates. Reference should be made at this time as to the contacts made with church camps in the States through privileges extended and made possible through scholarships given by a department of the United Lutheran Church. We must thankfully acknowledge
