Twenty-Fifth Annual Convention
of the Lutheran Women’s League
Mrs. Ingibjorg J. Olafsson, president of the Lutheran
Women’s League, formally opened the convention at 3 p.m.,
Tuesday, June 14, following a church service conducted by Rev.
S. Sigurgeirson. The church choir
led the s i n g i n g, with Mrs.
Kristin Jefferson as organist and
director. Mrs. Anna Jones, on
behalf of the Hecla Ladies Aid,
Undina, welcomed the delegates
and guests and presented Mrs.
Olafsson with a corsage.
A silent tribute, followed by the
Lord’s Prayer, was paid to mem-
bers who had passed away during
the year, namely: Gudrun John-
son, Winnipeg, Honorary Lifetime
President, L. W. L.; Thorbjorg
Paulson, Gimli; Kristjana Chis-
well, Winnipeg; Thora Frederick-
son, Glenboro; Annie Holo Dewitt,
Brown; Kristjana Magnusson,
Arborg; Sigridur Johnson, Ovida
Swainson and Sigurbjorg Bilsland,
all of Winnipeg.
A business meeting was in ses-
sion until 6 p.m.
