meinsemdum í heila, en aðferðirnar styðja í mörg-
um tilvikum hvor aðra, þannig að meinsemdir, sem
sjást ekki með annarri aðferðinni, sjást e.t.v. með
hinni. Ef háðar aðferðir eru notaðar fæst því bæði
meira nanni og betri mismunagreining heldur en ef
aðeins önnur aðferðin er notuð2, 4 5-48
Ekki þarf heldur að „óttast“ atvinnuleysi í ísó-
tópastofu við tilkomu þessa tækis. Þar eru eins og
sakir standa næg verkefni „utan heilans“, og er ekki
annað að sjá en að þeim muni fjölga, jafnvel þótt
CAT-aðferðin hlaupi þar undir bagga líka. Sem
stendur hamlar tímaskortur því mjög, að hægt sé
að taka upp í neinum mæli ýmsar flæðirannsóknir
og annað, sem orðið er rútína i öðrum löndum. Nýir
möguleikar í scintigraphy eru svo sífellt að opnast
og rannsóknaverkefni næg.
