Comparing Faroese with Icelandic and Summarizing the Data Jónsson (1997/98) lists all the verbs and id- ioms that take accusative subjects in Ice- landic. If we compare this data with Faroese, only taking into consideration verbs that actually occur in Faroese either in form or meaning or both, then the fol- lowing picture emerges: Fig. 2 is to be read asfollows.
