Furniture Marketing in the Future

This is a report írom a Norwegian
committee, which studied the íuture
possibilities of the Norwegian furni-
ture industry until the year 1980. It
also deals with structural rationaliza-
tion of the furniture industry.
Microwave Heating pp. 51 and 69
Mr. G. Öjelid from Husquama AB
in Sweden gave a summary lecture
on the techniques and applications of
microwave heating in the food indust-
ry at a meeting in the Danish Engi-
neering Society.
He compares this heating method
with other conventional heating met-
hods and points out how the micro-
wave heating cctn increase the ef-
ficiency of kitchens in restaurants and
cafeterias, where there are periodical
rush hours.
Husquarna AB has now sold some
2000 units of these microwave heat-
ing cabinets in Sccmdinavia only.
Búrfell Power Plant pp. 52—57
The hydroelectric power plant in
Thjórsá river at Búrfell is now under
construction. This will be by far the
biggest power plant in Iceland with
an ultimate capacity of 210 mega-
watts and 1720 gigawatthours cmnual
primary energy production.
Estimated construction cost of the
power plant, transmission lines and
substations is U.S.$ 37.5 million.

d) Contractors have improved con-
struction management through
better planning f. inst. with CPM
and PERT.
