Hello, I am Daniel Warthling from St.
Augustine, Florida, USA. I have always loved
lceland since I was 17 years old. I used to
have a deaf friend named Haukur who is
lcelandic but he disappeared. I am deaf
myself. I would like to have a pen pal with an
lcelandic man. I am planning to visit
Reykjavik this fall and hope to do some
volunteer working at lceland School for the

Hello lceland. This summer Expo 2000 is in
my hometown. It will be a fantastic and
unique event with a lot of culture, modern and
old technology, digital pictures, shows, etc.
on the expo-area and in the whole city. After
visiting your country last year in winter, I was
impressed by the nature, the contrasts, the
nightlife and of nearly everything, including
your language though I didn't understand one
spoken word! My friend and I decided to
return in summer 2001. And we want to stay
longer than five days. Now I am searching
for contact; I open my home to you (an
apartment in the center of Hannover) in
change for a room or a summer-house in lce-
land next year. I am better in Norwegian and
Spanish than in English, but l'm sure that we
can have good conversations. In summer, l'm
only at home for sleeping. I have to work a lot
and enjoy the warm and manysided season
outside. You can be sure that I don't have any
monetary or sexual interests! Even the house
of my parents was and is always open for our
