• Wool quality (e.g. with regard to environmental contamination) was studied in one experiment, (sheared in Feb.). No significant difference in quality was established between the two groups, A and B. The wool from group A had a slighly higher quality scores with respectto hand-knitting (0,10>p>0,05); • When conserving grass as round bale silage for ewes, a rather heavy willing, up to 50-60% DM, seems to be recommendable, provided that a high drying rate in the field can be achieved. Drying time should not exceed two concecutive days. 21
