It can be added that Pia Bennike, The Anthropologi-
cal Laboratory of the University of Copenhagen, has
previously determined skeletal material from the Faroes.
She has in fact analysed all available excavated skeletal
material on the Faroes, see Andersen 1978, Nielsen,
Grandjean & Bennike 1982 and Bennike 1983.

time the only fully excavated burial. The excavations
continued in the summers of 1957 and 1959, and the
results hereof are only summarily described, cf. littera-
ture referred to in the text.
