veitt viðeigandi stuðning og meðferð og þar
með minnkað þann skaða sem ofbeldi getur
valdið hjá konum og börnum þeirra.
Lokaorð
Það er einlæg von okkar að rannsókn þessi
verði til að efla umræðu um ofbeldi á
meðgöngu og endranær og leiði til þess að
konum verði hjálpað fyrr til að komast út
úr þessum erfiðu aðstæðum. Barnshafandi
konur sem búa við ofbeldi á meðgöngu verða
að vita að ljósmæður standa með þeim og eru
allar af vilja gerðar til að aðstoða þær. Með
því að gera umræðuna opinskáa og koma því
út í samfélagið að ofbeldi sé aldrei líðandi og
að gerandinn sé alltaf ábyrgur fyrir ofbeldinu
eykur það vonandi sjálfstraust kvenna til að
leita sér hjálpar.

Við þökkum fyrst og fremst konunum
tólf sem tóku þátt í rannsókninni fyrir
hugrekki þeirra og einlægni. Þessar konur
eru stórkostlegar og duglegar. Við þökkum
