As an attempt to clean Marielle's name from the fake news that was spread around and to
continue her legacy, her family created an institute, Instituto Marielle Franco. Currently, her
younger sister, Anielle Franco, is the Minister of Racial Equality and proceeds to follow her steps
and advocate for a fair investigation.
Right now, in 2024, the progress made was only able to prove that the former police officers Élcio
de Queiroz and Ronnie Lessa, both directly involved with the Bolsonaro family, were the driver
and shooter, but who ordered to kill Marielle?
Half a decade passed without an answer. Marielle became a symbol of resistance, human rights
advocacy, and most of all, a symbol of strength.
This isn’t the end, justice isn’t done yet, keep saying her name, tell her story.
