Fundarbók frá síðustu fundum lesin og samþykt.
Séra Bjórn B. Jónsson lagöi til, að Rev. Gehr væii
leyft að ávarpa þingiö, og flutti hann síðan þinginu
kveöju frá prestaskólanum iúterska í Chicago og skýröi
frá starfi og ástæöum þess skóla. Séra Friðrik J.
Bergmann svaraði fyrir hönd þingsins.
Séra Björn B. Jónsson lagði til að fé það, sem safn-
aö hefði verið hjá söfnuðunum handa prestaskólanum,
sé afhent Rev. Gehr, og var það samþykt.
Séra Fr. J. Bergmann lagði til, að séra Birni B.
Jónssyni og séra R. Marteinssyni sé falið að semja til-
lögu til þingsályktunar í því máli.
Var svo fundi slitið.

lögu til þingsályktunar út af heimsókn erindsreka
prestaskólans í Chicago:
Resolved, that the Synod expresses its appreciation óf
the fraternal greetings from The English Synod of the
North West, and cordially reciprocates the fraternal spirit.
Resolved also, that we express our thanks to the Gener-
al Secretary of the Theological Seminary in Chicago for his
visit, and assure him of our gratitude to the Seminary for
the great help it has rendered us in preparing our young
men for the ministry. We pray to Almighty God to restore
to health the afflicted president of the Seminary, Dr. Wid-
ner, whom we love and esteem. We pray God to abundant-
ly bless this school of the prophets with all its teachers and
students. We further hereby p!ace in the hands of tlie
