medfører, at flere af Besætningen maa afhøres, men da Trawlerne
som Regel kun jugere eller lodder sig til Afstanden fra Land,
kan han ikke modbevise Inspektionsskibets maalte Pladser og ind-
rømmer omsider, at det maa have sin Rigtighed med disse. Tid-
ligere blev Sagen da afgjort ved Forlig, nu falder der altid Dom i
den, som Regel lydende paa en Bøde paa 1000 Kr., i Gentagelses-
tilfælde paa 1500 å 2000 Kr. samt Konfiskation af Fangsten og
Redskaberne, der sælges ved offentlig Auktion. Fangstens Udlos-

ning og Fortabelse er den haardeste Del af Straffen, thi har Traw-
leren fuld Last, er Rejsens Arbejde forspildt, og Værditabet over-
stiger langt Bødens Størrelse og endelig rammes Skipperen per-
sonlig herigennem, da han oftest har Part i denne. Udbyttet af
Auktionen over Fangsten bliver dog selvfølgelig langt mindre
paa Island, end Fangsten er værd i Trawlerens Hjemsted. Ved
disse Udgifter samt ved Ekstra-Kulforbrug, Forsinkelse m. m. kan
en Anholdelse godt medføre en Udgift for Trawlselskabet paa
8—10,000 Kr., ja, undertiden endog mere, saa det er en stor Risiko
at løbe at indlade sig paa Trawling paa Territoriet, selv om det kan
være fristende nok undertiden.
