S U M M A R Y Two species of Gasteromycetes new to Iceland by Mikael Jeppson, fíergkulleviigen 448, Trollhdttan, Sverige. The gasteromycetes Bovista cretacea Th. C. E. Fr. (Lycoperdaceae) and Nidu- laria farcta (Pers.) Fr. (Nidulariaceae) are reported íronr Iceland. The author gives hrief descriptions of the species and dis- cusses tlieir geographical distribution. Nidularia farcta lias been collected on rotten wood in SE-Iceland and Bovista cretacea has been found in moist localities in tlie northern and eastern parts of the country. The Icelandic specimens of the latter liave been compared with B. cretacea col- lected in Torne Lappmark (Sweden), with which they agree in all respects. It is the first time B. cretacea is record- ed outside Scandinavia. The Icelandic collections of both species are deposited in the herbarium of the Museurn of Natural History, Akur- eyri. 45
