Mrs. Thordarson’s funeral from the First Lutheran Church, was
conducted by Dr. V. J. Eylands. Burial was made in the family plot
in Brookside Cemetery. _

Thorbjorg Asta Hjörleifson
Born October 7, 1891 — Died July 10, 1954
She was born near Churchbridge,
Saskatchewan. Her parents, the
late Mr. and Mrs. Sigfus Bjarnar-
son, were among the pioneer set-
tlers of the Langruth District then
called Wild Oak P.O., Man.
Thorbjorg attended the Big
Point School and was a confirmed
member of the Lutheran Church.
She inherited the pioneer spirit
of her forefathers, was loyal, in-
dependent a n d straightforward,
ever kind and cheerful.
Thorbjorg married Bjorn Hjor-
leifson, a veteran of the First
World War, who died in 1950. They
had one son, William Ray, married
to the former Iris Eastman. Thor-
bjorg lived to see two grandsons.
She passed away at her home in St. Vital, Man., where she had
been lovingly cared for during her illness by her son and her
daughter-in-law. Surviving her are four brothers and two sisters:
Bjorn and Valdimar of Langruth, Karl of Baldur, Gudmann of
Gladstone; Mrs. Helga Jackson, Langruth, Mrs. Gudlaug Erlendson,
Russell, Man. Dr. R. Marteinsson officiated at her funeral.
