the community at large. Her church work for the Lutheran faith
made deep inroads on her time. There were times when she stayed
with a neighbor ministering to the patient for she was a born nurse,
although she had no training in this respect. For this, she made
no charge.
When she was seventy years of age she entered a baking con-
test and was awarded first honors. Mr. Olson also was still using
the skill of his hands when he was over seventy. This couple just
could not believe in retiring at 65. Mr. Olson died in 1945.
For a time Gislina Olson made her home in Winnipeg with her
daughter, Mrs. Anderson. A serious hip injury later made her a
semi-invalid. During the last difficult period she was in the devoted
care of her youngest daughter Laura, Mrs. L. G. Webb, until she
passed away on February 8th this year, at the age of 86. She was
buried in Brookside Cemetery beside her husband.
Her six children, all of whom survive, are:Ella, Mrs. Helgi
Benson, Namu, B.C.; Mrs. Anderson, Winnipeg; Carrie, Mrs. Oscar
Paulson, Charleswood, Man.; Frank, Victoria Beach; Arthur, Sel-
kirk, Man.; and Laura, Mrs. L. G. Webb, Winnipeg.

Hold Thou my hand, dear Lord, hold Thou my hand,
I do not ask to see, nor understand,
Only that Thou wilt be constantly near to me,
Holding my hand, dear Lord, holding my hand.
