SLEEPY LAGOON
A sleepy lagoon, a tropical moon
And two on an island,
A sleepy lagoon and two
hearts in tune
In some lullaby land.
The fireflies’ gleam
Reflects in the stream,
They sparkle and shimmer,
A star from on high
Falls out of the sky,
And slowly grows dimmer.
The leaves from the trees,
All dance in the breeze
And float on the tipples;
we’re deep in a spell,
As nightingales tell of roses
and dew;
The memory of this moment
of love
Will haunt me forever.
A tropical moon, a sleepy
lagon and you!
I’M GETTING TIRED SO
I CAN SLEEP
I’m getting tired so I can cleep
I want to sleep so I can dream
I want to dream so I can be
with you;
I’ve got your pieture by my bed
’Twill soon be placed beneath
my head
To keep me company the whole
night thru;
For a little while what ever
befalls
I will see you smile till
reveille calls,
I hope you’r tired enough to sleep
And please sleep long enough
to dream
And look for me for I’ll be
dreaming too.
AMOR
Amor, Amor, Amor,
This word so sweet that I repeat
Means I adore you.
Amor, Amor, my love,
Would you deny heart that I
have placed before you
I can’t find another word with
meaning so clear,
My lips try to whisper sweeter
words in yor ear,
But somehow or other nothing
sounds quite so dear,
As this soft caressing word I know,
Amor, Amor, my love,
When you’re away there is no day
And nights are lonely.
Amor, Amor, my love,
Make life divine, say you’ll be mine
And love me only.
