Remarks: collected in February, May, August and Oc-
tober. Endospores in May and August. Epiphytic
on Polysiphonia lanosa. Vegetative cell divisions
were not observed. The new combination is necess-
ary because Sphaenosiphon Reinsch (1875) has
priority to Cyanocystis Borzi (1882), see Silva et
al. (1996).
