New Knowledge and
Changing Circumstances
in the Law of the Sea
Einn stærsti sæðisbanki í Kína hef-
ur sett það sem skilyrði að sæðis-
gjafar sverji kommúnistaflokki
landsins hollustu.
Þessi krafa var
sett fram í her-
ferð sem há-
skólasjúkrahús í
Peking hóf í vik-
unni fyrir sæðis-
gjöf. Samkvæmt
því sem þar kem-
ur fram mega
sæðisgjafar ekki
þjást af ættgengum sjúkdómum,
smitsjúkdómum og verða að hafa
traustan hugmyndafræðilegan
grundvöll. Fram kom á síðu spít-
alans á samfélagsmiðlinum WeChat
að karlmenn á aldrinum 20 til 45
ára, sem vilja gefa sæði, yrðu að
elska sitt sósíalíska föðurland,
styðja stjórnendur og stefnu
Kommúnistaflokksins og vera heið-
virðir og löghlýðnir borgarar, laus-
ir við pólitísk vandamál. Þessi yfir-
lýsing hefur nú verið fjarlægð af
vefnum.
Þeir sem komast í gegnum nálar-
augað eftir að hafa undirgengist
tvær læknisskoðanir, til að leggja
mat á gæði sæðisins og líkamlegt
ástand, fá greidd 5.500 júan, jafn-
virði um 90 þúsund króna, fyrir
framlag sitt. Ekki kom fram á vef
sjúkrahússins hvernig lagt yrði mat
á hvort gjafarnir uppfylltu hug-
myndafræðilegu kröfurnar.
Kínverskir notendur WeChat
hafa skemmt sér yfir þessari her-
ferð.
„Ástin á flokknum hefst í sæð-
inu,“ skrifaði einn.
Í Kína eru 23 sæðisbankar en
mikill skortur er á sæðisgjöfum.
Um 6,5% kínversku þjóðarinnar eru
skráð í Kommúnistaflokkinn en
Kínverjar eru um 1,4 milljarðar.

Danska land-
læknisembættið
segir að yfir 550
þúsund Danir yf-
ir fimmtugu, eða
yfir 10% þjóðar-
innar, þjáist af
beinþynningu og
helmingur þeirra
geri sér ekki
grein fyrir ástandi sínu.
Beinþynning eykur hættu á bein-
brotum sem geta reynst lífs-
hættuleg öldruðu fólki og gróa
seint.
Í tilkynningu frá landlæknisemb-
ættinu, sem vitnað er til á vef Jyl-
lands-Posten, er haft eftir Ullu
Knappe, formanni sambands
danskra beinþynningarsjúklinga,
að þessi sjúkdómur sé eitt mesta og
um leið faldasta heilbrigðisvanda-
mál nútímans.
Sambandið hefur nú hleypt af
stokkunum árveknisátaki til að
vekja almenning til vitundar um
beinþynningu og hvernig eigi að
fyrirbyggja hana. Ulla Knappe seg-
ir að beinþynning sé lífsstíls-
sjúkdómur sem hægt sé að fyrir-
byggja með réttu mataræði og
hreyfingu.

Bandarískt fyrirtæki áformar að
gefa auðugum geimferðamönnum
kost á að dvelja á geimhóteli.
Fyrirtækið Orion Span kynnti í
gær áform um að skjóta geimhót-
elinu á braut um jörðu árið 2021 og
opna það árið 2022.
Væntanlegir gestir þurfa að eiga
nokkuð digra sjóði en gert er ráð
fyrir að 12 daga dvöl í Aurora Stat-
ion kosti frá 9,5 milljónum dala,
jafnvirði nærri 950 milljóna króna.
