Hunangsfluga (Bombus sp.) á lúpínublómi. Líklegt
er að fá önnur skordýr hér á landi geti sótt sér fæðu í
blómin og borið frjó á milli þeirra. (18.7.1993)
Photo 17. The flowers of the Nootka lupine are
frequented by humble bees (Bombus). There are
probably few other insects in Iceland able to pollinate
the lupine.

Blóm og belgir alaskalúpínu. Lúpínan hefur miðleitna
blómskipun. Elstu blómin eru neðst f blómklasanum,
þar myndast belgir og þroskast fræ fyrr en ofan til.

Opnir belgir og fræ af alaska-
lúpfnu. Fræin vega á bilinu
10-20 mg hvert og eru fremur
smá miðað við fræ flestra
annarra Iúpínutegunda.
