INDICATED IN...
primary — highly useful in all recognized forms of endoge*
nous dep'ression, as well as in schizo affective depression
and neurotic depressive reactions.
disguised — particularly effective in patients who are
anxious, agitated or insomniac, or who present physical
symptoms because they are depressed.
superimposed — a valuable adjunct in patients who are
depressed because they are physically jll, particularly as a
result of severe chronic disorders.
WHEN THE PATIENT IS...
ambulatory — generally very well tolerated and readily
accepted, enabling the great majority of patients to be
managed easily with orally administered smaíl tablets.
hospitalized — suitable for injection in uncooperative or
potentially suicidal patients, or when electroshock is con*
traindicated or refused.
Supplied: Tablets, 25 mg. (bottles of 30, 100 and 500) and
10 mg..(bottles of 100 and 500) of amitriptyline hydro-
chloride, each; Injection, (each cc. contains 10 mg. ami*
triptyline hydrochloride) in 10 cc. vials.
