"Hann málaði með rauðum lit á vegginn" merkir að hann hafi notað rauðan lit til
að mála eitthvað á vegginn, t.d. mynd eða mynstur.
"Hann málaði með rauðum lit vegginn" merkir að hann hafi málað yfirborð veggj-
arins með rauðum lit og myndað þannig hluta af honum.
Hér er áhersla lagð á hvaða efni eða litur er notaður í málnunarprosessnum, en
grundvallarmerkingin er sú sama.
