SUMMARY A record of Bewick’s Swan (Cygnus columbianus bewickii) from Iceland by Marc A. Brazil, Department of Psychology, University of Stirling, Stirling, Scotland, FK9 4LA This paper is concerned with the first record from Iceland of the Bewick’s Swan. A single individual was seen in a moulting flock of Whooper Swans (Cygnus cygnus) in the inner part of Neslandavík, Lake Mý- vatn, northern Iceland, from 8 July until 10 August 1978; during this period it com- pleted the wing moult. The bird still re- tained some juvenile plumage, namely grey areas on the crown, nape and sides of the neck. Several observers saw the bird and identification was confirmed by photo- graphs. 60
