Norway, where it was a persistent childhood disease; the death rate in such
cases is much lower than in cases of true epidemics.
Reseaich into the origins of Icelanders is assessed in the light of these find-
ings, and it is concluded that Icelanders can for the most part trace their ori-
gins to Norway.
