In 1997 the city of Reykjavík and

formed a partnership to create a
developmental plan for the city of
Reykjavík. In this article, project

dóttir defines just what this entails,
discusses why such a plan is needed
and also describes its first phase.

Icelandic Design Museum, in

BUILDING
This article focuses on a new build-
ing for the offices of the company
B.M. Vallá, in Reykjavík. The
building was designed by Omar
Sighurbergsson and the architectur-
al design firm ÚTI og INNI. Details
of the design work, the surround-
ings, ideology and so on are given,
supplemented by photographs.

TRE AT ÞINGVELLIR
Last July the government of Iceland
held a competition for the design of
a new information centre at the
Þingvellir national park. First prize
was awarded to the architecture
design firm Gláma/Kím. The article
discusses the particulars of the
award-winning proposal.
