Landssmiðjan operates also
as a general contractor with-
in the lcelandic industry of
steel building. The projects
that Landssmiðjan has been
involved in are very broad
and by that Landssmiðjan is
very well equipped to tackle
which ever task that is need-
ed within the steel building
industry.
Landssmiðjan is an agent
for various foreign firms, the
main firms being Alfa Laval,
Atlas Copco and Dexion.
Alfa Laval is known for its
separators, and on the lce-
landic Fisheries Exhibition
will be shown small and me-
dium sized separators to be
used for fuel and lub oil treat-
ment, along with heater and
control equipment. From Al-
fa Laval Desalt, will be
shown desalinator to pro-
duce fresh water from sea
water, which by now is very
much used onboard proc-
essing vessels. Also will
there be indtroduced three
phase decanter separators
for fishmeal production,
along with Contherm cook-
ers, but together they build
the socalled Condec proc-
ess, which will certainly be
the production process of the
future for quality oil and físh
meal. From Alfa Laval Ther-
mal will be introduced plate
heatexchangers to be used
within refrigation systems.
The plate heatexchangers
are very economic in oper-
ation, and do also save great
space, and can reduce dra-
matically the usage of refri-
gant within the systems.
Dexion will introduce the
use of their racks and shelv-
ing for cold stores. It can be
from simple racking system,
to totally automatic storage
system.
