Biographical note:
Jóannes Dalsgaard, * JuE 26, 1940, Skálavík. Faroese his-
torian, joumalist and feoet; Dalsgaard, who studied in
Copenhagen, worked as a teacher from 1973 to 1980 and
was appointed Faroese national archivist (landsskjala-
vørður) in 1980, a position which he still holds. Dalsgaard
was a member of the Løgting ffom 1980-88 and from 1991-
92
