FRÆÐIGREINAR / KRANSÆÐAVÍKKANIR Á ÍSLANDI Lokaorð Próun kransæðavíkkunaraðgerða hefur verið bylt- ingarkennd undanfarna tvo áratugi. Tíðni þessara aðgerða hérlendis er há miðað við fólksfjölda, árang- ur hefur verið góður og jafnan kappkostað að taka nýjungar í tækni og lyfjameðferð í notkun þegar þær hafa sannað sig í erlendum rannsóknum. Kransæða- víkkanir eru sérhæfðar hátækniaðgerðir sem eiga eft- ir að þróast enn frekar á næstu öld. Aukin tækni, reynsla og framfarir í meðferð hafa orðið til þess að sá sjúklingahópur sem gagn hefur af kransæðavíkkun fer ört vaxandi. Mikilvægt er að búið sé vel að þessari meðferð hér á landi og vinnubrögð samhæfð. Heimildir 1. Gríientzig AR. Transluminal dilatation of coronary artery stenosis [letter to editor].
