efri og neðri hluta þvagfæra er metin.
Að lokum er óhætt að benda á að reglubund-
ið eftirlit og fækkun fylgikvilla hefur ekki að-
eins í för með sér ávinning fyrir sjúklinginn
sjálfan heldur einnig þjóðfélagslegan og fjár-
hagslegan ávinning. A norrænu þingi um
mænuskaða, sem haldið var í Reykjavík í sept-
ember á síðastliðnu ári, kom fram í erindi W S
Masry, gestafyrirlesara frá Bretlandi, að allt að
sex sinnum ódýrara er að koma í veg fyrir
fylgikvillana með forvörnum í stað þess að
meðhöndla þá eftir að þeir koma upp.
