Náttúrufræðingurinn - 2023, Side 23
Í leiðöngrum til Surtseyjar í gegnum árin hefur
verið dvalið í skála Surtseyjarfélagsins. Flutningur
til eyjarinnar og frá hefur að mestu verið í hönd-
um Landhelgisgæslunnar og Björgunarfélagsins í
Vestmannaeyjum. Fjölmargir hafa tekið þátt í rann-
sóknum okkar eða aðstoðað við mælingar, meðal
þeirra Ásrún Elmarsdóttir, Erling Ólafsson, Haf-
dís Hanna Ægisdóttir, Jón Guðmundsson, Kristín
Svavarsdóttir, Matthías V. Alfreðsson, Niki Leblans,
Sigmar Metúsalemsson, Starri Heiðmarsson og síðast
en ekki síst Sturla Friðriksson (1922–2015) sem fór
fyrir líffræðirannsóknum í Surtsey um árabil.
