Hydrographic conditions and fish stocks in Ice'
landic Waters.
I Overfishing and ocean currents.
Two herring stocks have practically disappeared from the
fishing grounds around Iceland. Other stocks e.g. cod and even
capelin are now vulnerable, while some are considered safe f°r
the time being. The present paper is the first of a proposed
series of four dealing with fish stocks and their migration >n
Icelandic waters in relation to environmental conditions alonS
