A summary oi how the relative importance of
the processes varied in both summers is given
in Table 1 together with some climatic ele-
ments. During the first half of July in 1968
ablation was relatively low and the net radia-

tion suppiied for the dominating part of it.
The air temperature was at and below normal
for this period. The first week was influenced
by an anticyclone above Iceland with dry south-
