Barbiturates
Melsedin —methaqualone hydrocnlonde —is a non-barbiturate
hypnotic which produces natural sleep. It is of low toxicity, is often
effective where other hypnotics have failed, and síde-effects are
negligibie. Melsedin acts within 15-30" minutes and its effect lasts
for 6-8 hours. Neither tolerance nor addiction to Melsedin has
been demonstrated.
