sýna svör lækna við því hvaða þýðingu
það geti haft fyrir sjúklinginn, hvort hann
leitar fyrst til heimilislæknis (mynd 5) eða
til annarra sérfræðinga (mynd 6). Eins og
sjá má á myndunum og töflu II (Q7, Q8)
eru heimilislæknar oftast á öndverðum
meiði við hinar sérgreinamar. Munurinn er
marktækur í flestum tilvikum. Helst eru það
bamalæknar, kvensjúkdómalæknar og háls-,
nef- og eymalæknar, sem telja hættu á töfum
á réttri sjúkdómsgreiningu sé fyrst leitað til
heimilislæknis.
Vitjanir. Nær algjör einhugur ríkir um það
meðal allra sérgreinanna að heimilislæknar
eigi að fara í vitjanir. Heimilislæknamir sjálfir
voru því allir sammála. Einnig var spurt um
það, hvort starfsmenn í öðrum sérgreinum
