SUMMARY.
The Dwarf Comel, Comus suecica L. in Iccland.
Tlie Dwarf Cornel, Cormis suecica L., Icel.: Skollaber (Fox Berries) is only
found in the outer fjords of the peninsulas in the NW, N and NE of Iceland (See
the map), and it has thus a pronouncedly northern and oceanic distribution, charac-
teristic also to some species of lycopodiums and ferns.
Curiously enough it is wanting on some of tlie peninsulas of North-Iceland, as
Skagi and Tjörnes, indicating perhaps that the piant has endured the Ice Age on
the places it is still to be found.
The Dwarf Cornel is a lowland plant in Iceland, rarely growing higher than
200 m a. s. 1. It is mostly found in vegetation of heather.
