breytileika í þyngdartapi á orkuskertu fæði (30).
íhlutunin sem lýst er hér í þessari grein stóð yfir
í átta vikur og sýnt hefur verið fram á skammtíma-
árangur af notkun matseðla og skiptilista ásamt
ráðgjöf næringarfræðings til að ná fram þyngdartapi
meðal of þungra og of feitra ungra Islendinga. I lok
rannsóknar var öllum þátttakendum boðið viðtal
við næringarfræðing þar sem rætt var um fram-
haldið og þátttakendur hvattir til að bæta meiri
hreyfingu inn í lífsmynstrið. Verið er að reyna að
safna upplýsingum um þyngd þátttakenda einu ári
frá Iokum íhlutunar munu þær niðurstöður veita
upplýsingar um langtímaárangur af þeirri næringar-
ráðgjöf og íhlutun sem lýst hefur verið hér.
Rannsóknin sem hér hefur verið lýst er sú fyrsta
sinnar tegundar sem framkvæmd hefur verið á
íslandi. Niðurstöðurnar sýna að aðferðin sem lýst
var í þessari grein getur nýst við klínískt starf í
baráttunni gegn ofþyngd og offitu. Mjög líklegt
er að góð eftirfylgni sé nauðsynleg til að viðhalda
árangrinum.
