Um höfundana
Leifur A. Símonarson (f. 1941) lauk magistersprófi í jarð-
fræði frá Kaupmannahafnarháskóla 1971 og licentitat-
prófi frá sama skóla 1978. Hann er nú prófessor í
steingervingafræði við Háskóla Íslands og hefur einkum
fengist við rannsóknir á tertíerflóru Íslands og sælindýra-
fánum frá síðari hluta tertíer, ísöld og nútíma á Íslandi
og Grænlandi.
Ólöf E. Leifsdóttir (f. 1969) lauk BS-prófi í jarðfræði frá
Háskóla Íslands 1994 og MS-prófi frá sama skóla 1999.
BS-ritgerð hennar fjallar um nákuðungslög á Stokkseyri
en MS-ritgerðin fjallar um sjávarset og fánur frá
miðbiki ísaldar á norðanverðu Snæfellsnesi.
