Sjálfsumönnunarlíkanið á að veita betri yfirsýn yfir ólíka þætti
og svið sjálfsumönnunar og það á að vera notadrjúgt bæði
fyrir hinn sykursjúka sem og heilbrigðisstarfsfólk. Mikilvægt er
að heilbrigðisstarfsfólk taki mið af kenningum um sjálfseflingu
einstaklinga þegar það annast um fólk með sykursýki.
