Þegar því lýkur mun verkefnið gefa góða heildarmynd af litrófí
landbúnaðarsamfélagsins á Islandi. Unnt ætti að vera að nýta niðurstöðumar við
stefnumörkun í landbúnaði og byggðamálum og til að bæta enn stoðkerfi nýsköpunar
og þróunar í sveitum. I forgmnni em sjálfir íbúamir - bændur og fjölskyldur þeirra -
sem gerendur. Athyglinni er beint að býlinu og þeim ákvörðunum sem þessir gerendur
taka og kunna að eiga sér margvíslegar forsendur, en án þess að missa sjónar af hinu
stærra samhengi sem rammar inn möguleika og takmarkanir þeirra hugmynda og óska
sem fólk í sveitum hefur um framtíð sjálfs sín og byggðarlaga sinna.
