við sömu umhverfísaðstæður. Þennan mun í atferli bleikjuseiðanna er hægt að tengja
við ólíkar aðlaganir að búsvæðum og fæðusérhæfingu afbrigðanna í náttúrunni.
Hrygningarstaðir afbrigðanna eru ólíkir, þ.e. annað hvort í stöðuvatni (dvergbleikja,
murta og brúnt afbrigði) eða í straumvatni (silfur afbrigði og Haukamýrargil)
(Jónasson 1992, Jónsson & Skúlason 2000) og þar af leiðandi eru uppeldisstöðvar
þeirra mjög ólíkar.
